Small comps??

Where is everyone this year?? A lot of the competitions this year seem to only have a few teams in each division...is everyone waiting until closer to regions or struggling with budget cuts....what is going on?? I know several comps did not make....anyone know?

There are more competitions available.  Gas prices are high.  Plus budget cuts.  I think many school simply aren't traveling as far for a team with two schools in their division when they can sometimes find one closer to home.
