There was a scoring issue that put Cambridge 2nd, the judges didn't see them max out fulls (there were 8 - not sure how they missed that)  Ga State admitted the error late Fri night but didn't change Cambridge in the line up for Sat. or the official results.  Top three 5A scored higher than all other divisions, Northgate 295, Stars Mill 294 and Cambridge 291.  Great performances by top 3 at the finals!!

So......how do we know for sure that there was an error? There was a tie between Cambridge and Effingham in sectionals, but when the high and low score was added back in, Effingham was 5 points ahead. Both teams maxed out tumbling, so the 5 points could have (and probably were) execution points, especially since BOTH teams maxed all areas. In a sport that clearly specifies "judges decisions are final" and "there are no protests," I don't see this happening.

There were two judges who didn't have Cambridge maxed out in running tumbling, they actually admitted the error to the team late Friday.  They assured the team it would not happen again on Sat (and, luckily it didn't-different set of judges)  They miss counted the number of fulls.  It doesn't matter at this point, it is what it is...
